Aquapark

aquapark

FAU Harbor Branch’s aquaculture research programs are located in our 30-acre Aquaculture Development Park.

scientists using aquapark systemThe park comprises 8 buildings totaling 39,000 square feet of facilities including hatcheries, nurseries, and grow-out systems equipped with pretreated freshwater and saltwater, aeration, emergency oxygen systems and backup power generators. This infrastructure has hosted a wide range of cross-disciplinary research programs enabled through academic, government and industry partnerships.

Our systems are engineered with backup electrical and oxygen systems, with zero waste discharge into the environment. The facilities use environmentally friendly freshwater and saltwater recirculation technology to supply and treat the water to our hatcheries, nurseries, grow-out areas, biosecure buildings, laboratories and classrooms.
