Transfer Students
Florida Atlantic University opened as the first university in the country to offer only upper-division and graduate-level courses thus beginning its tradition of serving the needs of transfer students. FAU admitted its first freshman class in 1984, emerging as the four-year institution of today. FAU continues to be committed to assisting students who are transitioning to the university.
The Transfer Student Services Center is dedicated to assisting prospective students in navigating their transfer process and assisting them through the transition to FAU. Prospective students can view whether courses taken at another institution are transferable to FAU through the use of our Transfer Equivalency Service (TES). Students transferring from a Florida College System institution should also review FAU’s Academic Program Transfer Guides to better understand each major’s lower-division courses that should be taken to help in their transition. Finally, all transfer students can benefit from reviewing the IFP Check List and Flight Plans by Major.
